Freeing up storage space on an Android phone is a fairly simple task. Just follow the steps below to clean up as much room as possible.

1. Uninstall apps that you don't use. Go to Settings > Apps and uninstall all of the software that you don't use. Go to Settings > Apps and uninstall all of the software that you don't use. The space occupied by each app is indicated under its name - that's the space you should be expecting to gain.
2.Move or downsize your pictures. If you've had your phone for a while, then chances are that you've taken a bunch of pictures with it already. These are probably hogging quite a lot of data space so moving them over to a computer's hard drive would be a good idea.
3. Clear the cache. Your apps save chunks of data for later use - map information, graphics, sounds, temporary downloads, stuff like that. Over time, these temporary files might pile up regardless of whether they'll ever be used or not. Feel free to clear your cache by going to Settings > Apps and tapping on "Cached data".

You need to move all apps to the SD card if you have one and it has space. Also good to have a memory cleaner which you can use to clear out any cache just to accommodate one more app in emergencies. Check out this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache&hl=en which works quite well.

If you phone doesn't have an SD card then you will have to look at the data and apps and see which ones you can delete - WhatsApp videos etc... can be deleted after you have watched them.

if it's the case of the memory card running out of space then just buy a new one and wasp it in.
