Microsoft promoted the launch of its Surface 2 tablet this week by installing what may be the largest tablet we've ever seen in the middle of London's Trafalgar Square. The tablet is 27 feet wide (yes, feet — not inches) and 17 feet tall.

What are they benefiting from this moves?

Well, you talking about it and then getting me to think and talk about it is exactly what they wanted to achieve with this little stunt. In fact, this is the fourth time I have come across this today and its all from other people mentioning it in conversation, imagine what it was like in London! In marketing speak its called gaining 'top of mind awareness'. For those who hadn't seen it yet (now see what you've done!) http://mashable.com/2013/10/24/giant-microsoft-surface-london/ and for a more 'practical' use of large touch screens http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/7/4812630/fox-news-shepard-smith-news-deck

Sometime in July l attended a Oil and Gas Expo, one of the companies Polacus had the hugest and massive touch screen l have yet to see.

The guy who was doing presentations was touching and dragging things across and it was amazing, l didnt need to be close to follow what was happening.

Its a big market and for those with cash to splash like oil companies, Microsoft can be one of there answers to show off.
