Econet and Africom both use the IX256 Modems from ZTE as i discovered today.  The devices look similar and going into the configuration of the Africom modem I noted the following
Wimax Settings
Frequency Band
Channel 1 FirstFreq(Khz) 2343125 LastFreq(KHz) 2363125  Next FreqStep (KHz) 1250 at 10M intervals

On the Econet Modem
A frequency list is used with 5 Channels 2535000, 2540000, 2545000, 2550000, 2555000.

Both modems allow for you to change from Frequency band to Frequency list and allow you to set the authentication settings.  My question therefore is can I use the devices back and forth by changing the configs?  I dont have an active Africom wimax account for the IX device so I am unable to test.

All answers will be appreciated.

theoretically that should work. devices are not network locked. for as long as you have the frequencies and authentication for an active account, you shouldnt have any issues
