no thats not true. you just go to dstv with your details and open an account for that decorder however it will take a bit longer for you to get signal as they will first have to deregister it from sa and authorize for zim. they just be checkin whether it was legally acquired, that is to say not stolen or reported as such. i did the same. took about 2 weeks to get signal from the time i paid. hope they are much quicker now
