Does whatsapp have an API or a Platform?

I notice a lot of DJ's on radio these days say you can reach us on our whatsapp platform.  Are these guys trying to be fancy - i.e. they are just saying that in the mean time they are running on bluestacks, you wave or are actually holding a phone lol.  Or is there a commercial whatsapp aaplication / API etc.

Not officially, no. But if you Google some hackathon from last year, a local developer did one and made Whatsapp into a binu app. There's libraries on GitHub that allow you to hook into Whatsapp as if you were the official app.

Thanks... I spent some time during the late hours playing with github and talk about convenient.  i now have watsapp running on pidgin which is ideal
