VPS versus Dedicated Hosting?

Hi guys, My traffic is on the spike and I am having regular outages now much to the chagrin of my visitors. I am currently hosting with bluehost and their service is excellent. I am on a vps plan which for 90 dollars I get 3cores which they don't specify speed and 6gb ram

Now I am considering upgrading but I am not spoilt for choice, I know this sounds stupid but whats better between a vps and a dedicated server in the following scenario?

Scenario: Dedicated hosting i am considering is costing 150 dollars for 2cpus @2.0 ghz and 4gb ram versus vps costing $120 with four cpu cores(speed not specified) and 8 gb ram

between these two, which one do you think will be able to stand more traffic demands
Caching courtesy of w3 cache is in place and is helping a lot.

I would go with the Dedicated server. Hogs can cause you problems on shared hosting.

According to me VPS hosting is better then dedicated hosting. They are much more reliable and secure as compare to dedicated hosting. Reseller hosting is also a best option these days.
