i'm using whatsapp v 2.11.547 i was using it all of a sudden it stopped working and i can't open it again

Same problem for me in Nokia X6. So I Uninstalled version 2.11.547 and downloaded latest version 2.11.549. Its now working..

Try to install an older version, 2.11.505 for instance and update when it asks you to do so.

Doesn´t function...tested older versions 505, 461,398. Uninstalled version 547 completly, reinstalled directly from whatsapphomepage...nothing has helped!!! I have now contacted the support- da bin i aba amal gschbannd! (in english: full of hope!!)

Is there anybody out there????

I have now tested lately versions 476 and 395...with no solution of the problem.
Now I've installed version 398, cause it's the latest version which asks for an update and  so I hope, that WA has to fix this bug in the next days- befor the possibility of restoring the messages stalls...

I'll report if the solution has been written from the support!!

Please write, if you have found solvings for this problem!!

I am facing the exact same issue on my Nokia N8, uninstalled 547 and installed 505 but of no luck.

Sodalada, jetz hammas!!! (this is bavarian for: problem solved!!!!)

I think I should better write in english- let's listen:

I 've contacted WhatsApp with this problem and Kris (mannny mannny greets and kisses, never known it is a man or a woman!!) has helped me finding the solution:

1. let's have a look at the explorer of your phone...there has to be a folder named "downloads"...and further there has to be the file  "Whatsapp_2_11_547.sis". If there is nothing you have to put the file in this folder (copy, paste...you know!!)

2. switch off your phone not less than a minute!!

3. start your phone

4. open the file "Whatsapp_2_11_547.sis" in the folder download by using the explorer of your phone

5. installation will beginn AND WILL BE SUCCESSFULL!!!!!!!!

UND EPPAD DIE ANLEITUNG IN BOARISCH (and now in bavarian ;)):

1. schaugamoi auf deim Händi noch dem Ordna "downloads", indem'st an Dateimänäga aufmachst. Do miassat de Datei "Whatsapp_2_11_547.sis" drin 'z findn sei- wenn ned, dann muasstas do eini faschiam (mit kobian und eifüng- Du woast des scho!!)

2. schoit Dei Händi für mindeschtns oa Minutn aus.

3. schoits wieda ei

4. mach an Dateimänäga auf und mach die Datei "Whatsapp_2_11_547.sis" im Ordna downloads auf

5. Dann schmeißtas Dia drauf UND DU WERST DI GFREIN WIARA SCHNITZL!!!!!

P.S.: (in german) in deutsch...bei einem weiteren Neustart meines Handys blieb es einmal hängen. Ich habe es dann nochmal nach einer Minute Wartezeit Neu gestartet und dann gings wieder!!!
In Englisch (in english): at a restart of my phone it had a hangup. I have restarted it once again at least one minute later and it started normally!!!

If anybody needs further help or a translation into german, ask Angela Merkel, Barack Obama, Kris (many kisses) or meeee!!! Please excuse me for my english!! Bavarian is much betta!!

Hello again,
a new problem since the installation:
opening some chats causes breakdown of WA (restart of phone neccessary)...i have deleted one (this works for the present) and contacted Kris...

You should have Symbian S60 5th edition similar to my Nokia X6...
CAUTION: it can only take an effect if you install WA from the memory of your phone after one minute shotdown!!!!
Have a got at this:
If this doesn`t work, try to uninstall it completly, install version 2.11.398 and then install version 2.11.547 (from the memory of your phone)...then update to version 2.11.549...
But don`t forget: it could be, that the new gadget "video preview" in versions 547 and 549 will breakdown your WA...at version 547 YOU have to restart your phone, at version 549 WA will restart BY ITSELF(approximately in one minute) everytime you see the frame of a video in every chat!!!

Is there anybody listening (or reading)???? Are there further problems with the new WA version or am I writing this only by myself??? Whatever...there are the latest news....

I have indentified, that the breakdowns are an effect of the not funktionable videopreview. Everytime I open a chat with a video, WA stalls, ends and never refreshes.
I have contacted Kris at the support of WA (many greets) and she/he has sent me an address where I have send my log to (now they know everything about me but not the colour of my socks!!! I wear no socks  ..!!)...the developers of WA are going to find the solution (what a support!!)

My solution for the time:
Change the settings for "Media Auto Download" in WA settings- deselect the video option everywhere and don´t have the idea to select the downloadbutton at every video you have been sent and don`t send any videos next time!! This will yield to ...you know!!

If you want to chat with a person who has an video in startposition of your chat:
1. If you want to save this chat (only written informations), select this person in the favorites by scrolling the list (NOT TIP ONLY ONCE AT THE PERSON, THIS WILL OPEN THE CHAT...CRASHES WA), press "Optionen", select "Einstellungen", select "Chatverlauf", select "Chat-Verlauf senden" (informations in "..." in german, because I have no idea how the translation would be)...send it per e-Mail/bluetooth to yourself- then delet this chat and start a new (WITHOUT VIDEOS!!!).
2. If you don't want to save it...delet and start a new chat!!!

In 5233 even i was facing the same issue, but I have removed memory card and installed whats app , its working fine then.

Juhuuuuuuuu!!!

Update 2.11.549 is available now ...

Videopreview still does'nt work (I think this could be a memoryproblem) but WA restarts by itself!! No complete restart of the phone neccessary!!
