I bought powertel dongle for $20, their sim card for $2 and paid $35 for a month subscription. The pretty girl at their front desk at Joina city assured me that my location was 400 metres from their base station in Sunridge near westgate and that i will have flow-less internet connectivity. It has been 21 days now since i parted way with $59 but i have not yet used even 100mb  of this internet. It wont just connect. I took the dongle to highfields, Msasa, even CBD, it was all waste of time. Sometime it connects but opens nothing, even local websites. I have never seen such atrocious service. I went back to return the dongle and their sim to get a refund and the guy i met declared that they have fixed my 'issue' only for it to turn up as a pile of lies. Have since met many many other people who have been robbed by this powertel. The only people getting a bit of service are those using the ealier version of sim-less dongle.

You mean 'flawless' not 'flowless'. Powertel may not have the greatest or the fastest internet connection But it works. I use it and its not verry bad considering the price. I have a 10m metre usb extension cable that I use to connect the modem and it work ok. So powertel should not close the shop but just improve their service.

Why are they allowed to keep on ripping off hard pressed zimbabweans. To call this INTERNET is an insult. They even call their non-existent service  BROADBAND. Dont take us for granted please. I was so disappointed with powertel after it ruined my entire holiday break in zimbabwe.  This is fraud of highest order being committed by a government department of all companies.
