I will be getting my windows done soon (upgrading to win7), but i've realised one of my most handy applications, Google Talk, isn't available from google anymore! I know the hangouts plugin thingy replaced it but I love GTalk's simplicity and that I don't need to keep a browser open all day to use it.
Any ideas of reputable / safe sites to download it from? Google turned up the usual suspects (cnet, softonic etc) but they either lead to old reviews or redirect to hangouts. The other search results just look dubious
