You get a public IP, however its dynamically assigned - you will not neccesarily get the same IP when you reconnect

Do they have enough public IPs for that? I still think they give Nated private v4

@Anthony Are you on GPON or MPLS platform, because all the GPON links I have seen are nated in the 10.x space.

then your not on ZOL GPON! - ZOL GPON presently uses 197.211.x.x IP's which are dedicated to you for the duration of your PPPoE session
if its a 10.x IP its something thats not ZOL - not even the LAN

Thanks for that. Internal WiFi is running 10.x not the WAN address just confirmed with someone. My oversight. And you are correct, wimax runs Carrier Grade.

You are not up to date anthony, 10.1.x.x belongs to Zol private range

10.1.x.x is not used by ZOL anywhere - 10.12.x.x is used for wimax private range on the wan side of the CPE but 10.1.x.x is not used - trust me as someone that is very up to date Macdonald.Chipunza (DISCLAIMER - i work for ZOL)

@anthony you guys need a consultant. There are some serious issues that need to be addressed on your end. That said in the process of disclaimers I used to work for Liquid. Naturally a lot has changed but bottom line the shaping/compression/FUP kills that connection.

Yes we do digress. My next question is can I establish a direct connection between GPON peers? eg. remote desktop to GPON client user A to GPON client user B. and secondly Random user say telone to Gpon?

best thing to say is try it - theres no reason it won't work though if port forwarding setup correctly because ultimately the public IP you get on GPON is publically routeable

Anthony, in another posting you did admit that 10.1.x.x is used by the Zol cpe. And yes they use it.
If you call support they ask you to log into the cpe using that network ip and confugure of change things.

10.1.1.x is used LAN side on most wimax CPE's - 10.12.x.x is used WAN side on all ZOL wimax CPE's
neither of those ranges have anything to do with GPON fibre or MPLS fibre for that matter
