The lack of a significant or unified gaming community in Zim makes it hard to gauge interest, but I imagine there are interested individuals. With a heck of a lot of legwork I guess it would be possible to create some kind of league, just not right away and on a scale necessary to bring in major corporate support. Maybe if we had esport equivalents of Axcil Jefferies or Tanya Muzinda, dedicated young people sticking to their relatively niche passions making waves internationally, it would be possible to build a visible community around them and accelerate things.
This page
https://www.facebook.com/gamezim/
has been quiet for a while but maybe if you poll the people there, here
https://www.facebook.com/search/groups/?q=zimbabwe%20gamers
and other cross interest groups like
https://www.facebook.com/groups/zimbabwecomicbookconvention/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/zimanimeunion/
like you did here, you might get a better sense for the levels of interest.
