One of my users made their documents in XP private (disallow other users from see their docs) and now we want to recover the documents from their harddrive and can't access them? Is there a way we can retrieve those docs. Now when I log as administrator and try to open the documents from My Docs & Settings.

If you can assist please reply pronto.

1. Open Windows Explorer to C:\Documents and Settings\ and then locate the user folder you want to take ownership of.

2. Right-click the folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

3. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.

4. In the Change owner to box, select Administrator.

5. Select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.

Chete chete.
