BPL is broadband that can be build and operated via electrical power lines just like ADSL is to telephone lines. That means in theory where ever there is electricity lines supply to the residential areas, BPL can also be added for Internet access.
PowerTel, can use its position and close relationship with Zesa, the infrastructure most of it is already there, what is only needed is the brains to drive it and marketing strategy to deliver it to residential homes and businesses.
This can cut a lot of cost when considering that at some point PowerTel will need upgrade its old CDMA network with something which quickly generates money and a bit cheaper to put in place. The good thing is they ca do it in phases, starting by pushing CMDA into a access internet method and BPL as CDMA connection point technology.
