UK-based web host VS US-based web host for a Zim Audience

Hi,

From your experience(s)...

...given all things equal, is it more adviseable that I host my website on UK-based data centres or US-based data centres...when my audience is in Zim?

Someone told me latency is double for a Zim visitor on a US-based host VS a UK-based host.

How far true is that?

Is that the reason why TechZim relocated to UK-based servers?

You will face double the latency if you choose US, l have some serious issues with latency between one of our private 10G links WAN links and there is nothing we can do about and its a point to point link.

The link is between EU and Houston!

Since Econet/Liquid Telecoms have POP and Linx(London Internet Exchange), chances are that if your traffic goes via Econet, there is minimum latency compared to PowerTel which route its traffic via Bots

Amen to that. I will choose London/ the EU on any given day. In my experience with Cloud Flare CDN the latency is comparable-but cheaper- than  SA hosted site.
