I watched some YouTube videos on how to host a website on the internet from my computer, which is done in 3 easy steps. 1) download an http server and install it on your computer 2) setup port forwarding on your router to your computer's ipv4 address 3) register to a DNS server (which I used no-IP) and boom you are on the internet.
Of which it turned out not to work .
I then used an online port forwarding tester tool obtain a port status, which is turning out closed, and I am suspecting it is the router not doing anything, but at the same time I am no expert at this.
Could it be my router , or what i am doing this totally wrong ?
I'm using Telone Adsl and my router is a model HG531 v1
My main goal is not host a website, but my .NET socket on the Internet...would help if I could get an answer on how to do that too .
THANKS IN ADVANCE
