When do current Zimbabwe passports expire in view of epassports story

Hi Techzim, I am currently out of the country and a bit far from the Zimbabwe Consulate here so I would like to ask your assistance regarding the status of current passports vis-a-vis the issue of epassports. I read your article of 7 February 2022 where you ran an article pertaining to this hot topic. Are there any new developments regarding the validity of current passports. For example if the current passport has an expiry date of 2030, do I need to apply for another epassport or I can still use the current one. Please help. I may not be the only one but most Zimbabweans are in the dark too regarding this issue

As far as we know the current position on passports is now: all old passports remain valid until their expiration date. Initially they had said they would cease to be valid by 2024 or something like that.
