I disconnected my Powertel modem (I went there, filled in and submitted a disconnection form), which was due to take effect on the 28th of March. Much to my surprise, we are almost coming to May and the modem is STILL WORKING! I have been to Powertel on three occasions, asking how this is happening, yet I requested for disconnection, and each time, they just get my details and tell me that they are looking into it. Does anyone have an idea whats going on, because i DO NOT want to be billed again for their trashy service as i  have already moved to Econet.

That's why they're able to post huge profits. Based on customers who think they're disconnected. Kuvhaira mhere mhere when they start following up on payments.

Same happened to me. following up on payments would be unethical. considering the service is prepaid, once the payment is due or disconnection instruction is issued they should act professionally and disconnect, period.

PowerTel is according to there press release, testing a new billing system in the these coming 3 months. They also admit that the old system in current use is manual based which means that someone has to physically go through the list of customers and disconnect those who have not paid.

All this will be automated once the new system is in place, just like what they did at Telone. So enjoy guys whilst it last because soon you will be crying for being cut ''to early''.
