:-) this is a common problem that switch has been looped. Check if there is no specific cable connecting the switch to it's self. Take them one by one out when the heavy blinking goes off remember that you have found the culprit :-)

Your switch is still fine but what you describe is a sign of a loop...Pane munhu aita humambara ipapo :-) normally it's accidental but dzimwe nguva umwe munhu arikuda kukusorta iwe

I checked all that out and there was no loop. I even rebooted it and it was taking its time. We have already ordered a replacement and l moved everyone to other ports available on other switches.

should also add its possible to have a loop thats not direct port a to b if you have dumb switches in your setup and have STP running and managed to create a loop with 2 cables to the same dumb switch

possible s-tupid (avoiding filtering) answer - check the cable from that switch to your other switches/router isnt damaged/broken it may be that it died and thus giving the impression the switch is dead when its only the communications from the switch to the rest of the infra (had that before myself on a switch)

I have two 10gig uplink cabled  to the core switch and the lacp is showing as up.

The problem is now solved. It turned out that the switch had a bug which randomly stopped the forwarding of  packets. This can be solved in two ways.

1. Reboot the switch. In my case it didnt work.

2. Software upgrade. This worked and lm now testing it with minimum production machines..

Thank you all.
