How can i unlock my Econet dongle so that i can use a Netone sim card on it?

What happens if you just put in the sim? Ideally you just need to change APN settings and it will work...

It can work if its not a branded one. Bt if its locked to econet then he needs it to get unlocked.

l had one which l couldnt use with any simcard, lm not sure if they are still doing that

Mine is branded but it takes up telecel sim...

Mine was Huawei, so I downloaded the software for the model, install it and I can insert any sim and it works fine, though some USSD like balance request are lost

What kind of dongle/modem do you have ? Did your modem/dongle locked with Econet sim card ? Do you want to use your modem with other sim cards ? If yes, use unlock code to unlock it . you can get it from any of the online vendors like http://www.superunlockcodes.com/supported-phones/rs12wp7/ to unlock it . After unlocking your modem/dongle, you can use different sim cards with it .
