I used to think alexa was the most reliable website to ascertain website ranks, statistics, traffics and so on, however, i have since been educated on this platform that their stats are not to be trusted? therefore which website computes reliable stats do you know

For a general comparison www.alexa.com beats all hands down. You can try www.webuka.com and your results will be very different from alexa. However, know this there is no accurate site honestly as all use different methods to scoop data. If you have a wordpress blog you will get different results if you check your wordpress stats, google analytics or Yandex Metrica. And you will get different results on Google Analytics if you merely change the position of the tracking code from footer to header....
