of course apple wouldn't recommend that..... i have jailbroken mine and i have not had any problems...

Jailbreaking depends on what you wanna do exactly with yo Iphone. Its recommended if you wanna have access to your file system and for tweaking your Iphone beyond the limitations of the IOS. If you know what you are doing its fine but be warned as you might end up bricking yo expensive Iphone. I lost my jailbreak when i upgraded to IOS 7. I terrible miss it though!!!
