How can I save on airtime using etxt?

Question

Econet has a product called etxt that allows one to send unlimited messages for just $1 a month. It allows one to check and reply to things like Faceebook chats, posts and even my email (well Gmail for now).

There must be a way I can save on my airtime costs surely? Any help anyone can give on this matter?

i have found etxt to be extremely unreliable so much that its not worthy of my $1 and as such i have discontinued my subscription. Sometimes you dont get your messages, you will only realise that you had messages in your gmail or facebook inbox when you go online
